experimental video (2013)

An experimental video work on rebellious art in Istanbul.
In 2013, as an expanding movement around the world, Istanbul joined the Occupy movement with Gezi Parki resistance. Many people united for peace, a better world and resisted against to dictatorial attitude in Turkey. It created a wave in media + social media. People held their breath [literally] waiting for the good news. Good news never arrived. Only a few consolations people got.
After Gezi Parki movement, artists and rebels gathered in Istanbul for support in different ways. As an extension to this support, the streets and blind walls of buildings in Kadıköy region started to bloom. And the memory of the resistance merged into these street artworks form many reasons. This work is a sad but hopeful reminder.
